i dare you

today is halloween! i don't plan on actually celebrating tonight, sadly. i got about 4 hours of sleep last night and my body really wants me to sleep through my 9:30 tomorrow instead of staying up late and then getting up at 8 am. today i went on a field trip to the hartford courthouse with my journalism class. it was ok i guess, except the case we sat in on was a first-degree sexual assault charge of a 14-year-old kid from a 9-year-old girl. it was really sad. it was an unnerving way to begin humiliation wednesday.

which, incidentally, has been getting less humiliating each week- go figure. i think it's because i've taken the precaution of trying to do as much nothing on wednesdays as possible, not to mention every other day of the week. today, though, i have finally felt my exhaustion catch up to me. i think i'm going to nap for a long, long time. today i was so tired that it reminded me of my last night in the 55th street dorm freshman year when my roommates and i all watched the O.C. and when marissa died i had been so exhausted and so frustrated built up from all that semester that i just started crying a lot and laura had to get me water and call my sister. my body deals with stress in the worst way ever- by keeping it in for a long time and then making it explode out of me in a big mess.

so on that note, i'm going to nap. i had two cups of coffee before noon and i still fell asleep on the way home from the field trip. i was considering practicing my songs in the music building for monday but i think i'll wait til tomorrow. it doesn't feel like a holiday. when i was talking to maggie earlier i told her i would see her in a week and a half, mistakenly thinking it was november 11th in my sleep-deprived brain. dear god.

in the spirit of halloween (HAH) here is the first part of my favorite episode of are you afraid of the dark. submitted for the approval of the midnight society,
