oh my god i just found out today that i have a 5 page paper for modern drama about "look back in anger" due tomorrow. i am so strezzed right now and have been working on it for so long that i think i have eye cancer from looking at my computer too much. also i went to the lake district the other weekend, which was AMAZING and full of sheep and rolling green hills. it looked like such a beautiful dream! i was very, very sad to leave it but hopefully someday i'll be able to go back. this weekend i'm going to bellagio, italy, which supposedly is lovely. we will seeee..... for now i'm worried about my paper and trying to take my mind off it by playing scrabulous and reading the news. i think i made myself not feel well because all i ate today was wine and cheese- we had a guest speaker come talk to us and we were served wine and cheese there. and then immediately following the guest speaker we had a run-through of our poetry readings in jenny's flat with wine and cheese. i officially feel gross and, sadly, not drunk at all. unless it's possible to be drunk with boredom. i don't think it is. what time is it even? i feel like i've been working on this paper for a week, even though it's only been about 3 hours. i honestly don't really know what the assignment is and i'm just making up my own thesis. if anyone hasn't read "look back in anger" by john osborne i really recommend it. despite my hatred for this paper, the play is really good. i only saw a part of the movie but it seems to be a good representation of what i imagined the play looking like.... if you get a chance to see or read it, definitely do. in the meantime i will be working on this paper and praying that there is enough time in the next few days to get all my work done.
i come home in twelve days! that doesn't make any sense to me! how did four months go by so quickly! i feel like i've been living in suspended time, like it is still the first week and somehow i've kept the time going slower than it should be. but unfortunately i'll soon find myself back in connecticut. i wonder if i'll ever come back to england. i honestly would like to live here but i'm not sure how that will work out in the long run. i know that i'll miss it terribly, more than i ever missed new york and surely more than i miss uconn right now. although i'll be glad to see my family i just don't want to leave. i'll miss everyone so much and the places and things i've seen.... ah but i don't want to think about it now. i'll wait until the very end to become nostalgic. for now i will enjoy it- with the exception of writing papers and taking tests and all that other academic stuff...
