tommy just sent me this lovely image, of what looks like a little town in italy. since he wouldn't tell me where it's from i'm just going to assume it's from around that part of europe because i've never seen anyplace else that looks this way.
pretty much the second i got to lake como i realized it was the most beautiful place i had ever (and probably will ever have) seen, but of course there are a bunch of reasons why i'd never be able to actually live there. there is just something about little waterfront towns like this that draws me in, i think partially because they look like caricatures of the world. there's no reason why every town should look so boring when it's clear that places like this, colorful and elegant, are so much more inspiring. sometimes i really don't understand the way most of the world thinks and operates. i think that keeping the world beautiful and mysterious like this should count for something.
also, i keep going to sleep later every night, it's pretty awful. and i had a zombie dream last night, which i guess serves me right for enjoying watching zombie movies so much. if you haven't watched Rec. yet, do it now! but then look at this picture before you go to sleep to erase the image of zombie attacks from your mind.
