so rachel and i made it to block island, and we're waiting around for my dad to get here. today is his 60th birthday and our mom has a special surprise for him- a night on a yacht, hosted by someone named "the captain," who i imagine to look like this: 
so that should go well. this whole day has felt like an episode of curb your enthusiasm, and rachel and i decided to maybe start a video blog, in which case you'll see some videos on here. in the meantime, i have to go meet the captain.
