at long last i finally made it home, where i have been dreaming of going since, well, the last time i was here. last night my sisters and mom and i all watched harold and maude and there was a fire in the fireplace and i had soup and i can't tell you how nice it was. today i slept really late (having mono combined with sleeping in my own bed apparently causes me to sleep til 2 pm) and spent a nice day inside relaxing. i watched some curb your enthusiasm with rachel and made lunch and basically just enjoyed being here and being happy.
just now zoƫ and i watched 28 weeks later with the fireplace going and now we're all just sitting around. it sounds boring, but it's the best thing i've done for myself in about 2 and a half months. it's warm here in my room and rachel and i have both got candles going so everything smells like the holidays. all i've wanted this whole semester is a humble abode with a fireplace and some books to read; after being in a little room with linoleum floors and fluorescent lighting home feels like the warmest, safest place in the world. rachel and i had been planning on seeing the microphones tonight but i heard the highways are all closed because of accidents anyway; i'm okay with staying in tonight, though.
it started to snow a few minutes ago and everything feels like this great warm thing building towards the holidays (which i normally don't care about at all but have actually become pretty excited for). i know i'm rambling on but i don't have any news for you and i'm just really happy to be here right now. in a week i'm sure things will be even better once my friends have all come home for thanksgiving. but for now i'm going to enjoy this and take it all in and keep it there for as long as i possibly can.
